Note: mail.yourdomain is the example for your email server. Place in pop.<your website name>
For example: support@sbwh.com would have a mail sever (incoming and outgoing) as pop.sbwh.com
To change an existing account:
Outlook 2007
Go to Tools >> Email Tab >> Change...
Outlook XP /2003
Go to Tools >> Email Accounts >> View or change existing e-mail accounts
Highlight your account you need to edit and click "change".
To add authentication for outgoing mail:
- Click 'More Settings ...' -> 'Outgoing Server' Tab.
- Make sure 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' IS checked.
- Make sure(use same settings as...) is checked.
To setup a new account:
Outlook 2007
- Go to Tools >> Email Tab >> New...
- Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
- Check "Manually configure server settings or additional server types"
- Click Next
- Select Internet Email
- Click Next
Outlook XP /2003
- Go to Tools >> Email Accounts >> Add a new e-mail account >> POP3
- Click Next
- User Information:
Your Name: (anything you like)
E-mail address: ( your@yourdomain.com )
- Server Information:
- Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com
- Logon Information:
- User Name: (full email address)
- Password: (email account password)
- Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is NOT checked.
- Click 'More Settings ...' -> 'Outgoing Server' Tab.
- 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' IS checked.
- (use same settings as...) is checked.
If you need to use a non standard outgoing (SMTP) port because your ISP blocks port 25:
- Click the advanced tab and change port 25 to 2525
- Click 'OK' and finish
Your email should now be setup
