How do I setup my mail in Outlook?

Note: mail.yourdomain is the example for your email server. Place in pop.<your website name>
For example:
support@sbwh.com would have a mail sever (incoming and outgoing) as pop.sbwh.com

To change an existing account:

Outlook 2007
Go to Tools >> Email Tab >> Change...

Outlook XP /2003
Go to Tools >> Email Accounts >> View or change existing e-mail accounts
Highlight your account you need to edit and click "change".

To add authentication for outgoing mail:

  1. Click 'More Settings ...' -> 'Outgoing Server' Tab.
  2. Make sure 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' IS checked.
  3. Make sure(use same settings as...) is checked.

To setup a new account:

Outlook 2007

  1. Go to Tools >> Email Tab >> New...
  2. Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
  3. Check "Manually configure server settings or additional server types"
  4. Click Next
  5. Select Internet Email
  6. Click Next

Outlook XP /2003

  1. Go to Tools >> Email Accounts >> Add a new e-mail account >> POP3
  2. Click Next
  3. User Information:
    Your Name: (anything you like)
    E-mail address: (
    your@yourdomain.com )
  4. Server Information:
  5. Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com
  6. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com
  7. Logon Information:
  8. User Name: (full email address)
  9. Password: (email account password)
  10. Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is NOT checked.
  11. Click 'More Settings ...' -> 'Outgoing Server' Tab.
  12. 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' IS checked.
  13. (use same settings as...) is checked.

 

If you need to use a non standard outgoing (SMTP) port because your ISP blocks port 25:

  1. Click the advanced tab and change port 25 to 2525
  2. Click 'OK' and finish

Your email should now be setup
