Integrate an Outlook Web Access (Exchange) account with your BlackBerry

To integrate an Outlook Web Access (OWA) account with your BlackBerry account:

First read the following link's instructions on how to access your blackberry internet services account
http://www.discoverblackberry.com/support/blackberry101/email.jsp

  • Connect to the BlackBerry Internet Service website and log in to your BlackBerry account.
  • Upon seeing "Set Up a new (or existing) Email Account", enter your email address and password.
  • You may receive a warning about being unable to configure, this is expected. Select "I will provide the settings to add this email account." and click next.
  • Select "This is my work email account." and click next.
  • Under Outlook /Exchange, select "I can access my email account using a Web browser (Outlook® Web Access) " and click next.
  • For Outlook® Web Access URL: enter https://ex.sbwh.net/owa
  • Username and Mailbox name will be your full account name (not email alias).
    • For example support@sbwh.com would be the full account name but me@domain.com would be the email alias
  • The email address should be the given email address you display publicly (this will most likely be the same as the username and mailbox)
  • The password is the same password you use to connect to your email account
  • Click next

If you see the message "You have successfully configured access to:" the integration is complete. The integrated account is listed with a green check mark in the Valid Email Account column (on the far right). New email messages will begin appearing on the handheld from your integrated OWA account.

If you see the message "We were unable to configure this mailbox" the integration failed for one of the following reasons:

  • You entered the wrong account information. Repeat the process.
  • There is a temporary connection problem between the BlackBerry Internet Service website and your Exchange server. Try integrating your account later.

Note: Mail is retrieved from your Exchange Server account and forwarded to your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld every 15 minutes. SBWH does not control the delay, this is set by RIM.
